Soul Strut was founded in 1999 by failed musician / Jefferson Starship obsessor Rick Smith. Smith later went on to find fame under the illustrious Disc Jockey moniker RAJ Mahal (who has never officially toured any where).

Over the years, Soul Strut has grown from a hack hip hop zine to a hip word-of-mouth hang out for music enthusiasts worldwide. Broad? Yes. Cultural Phenom? Some might agree. But, hang out here long enough and you will know what it means to be a 'Strutter'.

About Smith:

Soul Strut is designed, coded, and maintained by Rick "Raj Mahal" Smith. In his spare time, he raises two children, pushes an Audi A8 through rural Pennsylvania streets, snaps photos, pretends to play 'vintage' instruments, and yes, big-ups himself in the third person while watching NFL football.
